Conflict of interests because of connection between politics and business main reason for unethical behavior of politicians

The conflict of interests most frequently occurs due to connection between politics and business. This conflict is the main reason for unethical behavior of politicians. This is one of the conclusions that participants of the yesterday's round table in 'MEDIA Center', made. Some of the participants are of the opinion that a law on preventing of conflict of interests should be passed. However, that law would have no effect without the law on financing of political parties and free access to information. Representatives of 'Serbia Transparency' have made draft proposal of law on preventing of conflict of interests covering all related issued.

As the chief mechanism of control this proposal stipulates report ABOUT property of an official at the beginning and at the end of his mandate. Of course a special body would confirm that the supplied data are true and correct.
