The draft Anti-corruption strategy presented

Ministry of justice, on its press conference (December 28th, 2004) presented the draft of National anti-corruption strategy. It is expected that during January 2005 all government ministries and parliamentary groups will issue their opinions ABOUT draft, before adoption of the Strategy's final version in National Assembly. Measures provided by the Strategy should be further developed through comprehensive Action plan. The implementation of prescribed measures will be monitored by new professional and independent anti-corruption body, envisaged to be established through special law. Ministry of justice appointed members of working group that drafted the Strategy, including one Transparency Serbia's representative. The contribution of Council of Europe and OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro in preparation of this draft is significant.
