Day of free access to information in Valjevo

Law on free access to information was promoted in Valjevo today by a series of events and manifestations. Promotion of opening of the municipality Valjevo office, in which will be dealt with the demands for free access to information, was held in ten o'clock, with presence of Commissioner for information of public importance. This municipal office is supplied with the assets from the Republic of Serbia budget, for which municipality Valjevo applied for, which is an unique case in the country. Commissioner for information of public importance, Mr. Rodoljub Sabic, Program Director of Transparency Serbia, Nemanja Nenadic and representatives of municipality Valjevo held a press conference in 10:30. After that, in the organization of Transparency Serbia, Local council of EMINS in Valjevo and with whole-hearted help of municipality Valjevo, a seminar was held about the implementation of the Law for the officials of public authorities and public enterprises from Valjevo and Kolubara county. These events served as additional promotion of the project that Transparency Serbia is doing in cooperation with Local council of EMINS, and through which legal service is provided to the citizens who whish to set up the demands for free access to information or to realize the right on free access to information that was denied to them through complaint.

Commissioners for information of public importance addressed with a letter to the Ministers of the Government of Serbia and to the public on the occasion of disrespect of the obligation of revealing and regular updating of directory about work of these public authorities.
