Subjects of the conference:

This press conference announces project of Monitoring of election campaign at local elections which will be held on May 11. This project is implemented by organization Transparency Serbia, in cooperation with partners (in Šabac with Citizens' Association „ Osvit “ ) and media in 8 cities and municipalities of Serbia , among which is Šabac .

This project will cover following areas:

Election campaign financing (which includes gathering and analysis of data on election campaign participants' activities, media advertising, promotional gatherings, possible use of public resources, allocation of budget assets, control of reports on campaign financing etc.). At press conference we will point out to problems in financing of election campaigns in Serbia , and especially to those related to local elections.

Ways of candidate and party promotions, especially in the light of Ethical Code of local officials adopted by almost all municipalities and cities in Serbia. This matter is of special importance for municipality of Šabac , considering that it is only one of six municipalities that not only adopted Code, but also formed parliamentary body in charge for its implementation.

On this occasion we will present promotional materials that will be distributed to citizens and deputy candidates and direct citizens, party representatives, and representatives of local municipality in what way can they contact with Transparency Serbia and Citizens' Association „ Osvit “ , to share with us their information and suspicions on financing and conducting of election campaign and how to jointly find the best solutions for the citizens.
