Transparency Serbia held a press-conference “Actualities in the implementation of the regulation on free access to information and financing of the political parties”. Representatives of Transparency Serbia presented the analysis of the implementation of anticorruption regulations in Serbia . In the focus of attention was the implementation of regulations from the areas of free access to information and financing of the political parties.
Program director of Transparency, Mr. Nenadic, introduced the public with the results of tracking the implementation of the Law on free access to information and with the findings of the analysis published in Directories of public authorities. This analysis included quantitative aspect of the problem (how many institutions made and published it, and what is the situation in respect of compliance with the dut y within various categories of public authorities ), and also the qualitative (the level of completeness, considering the obligation specified by Commissioner's Manual). He also presented the general conclusions on the most often deficiencies in published Directories and recommendations for their improvement.
Professor Vladimir Goati spoke about transparency in financing of the political parties in the light of fulfilling the obligations from the Convention of United Nations against corruption which was ratified by Serbia and Montenegro at the end of last year, about few other problems with the report on activities of the political parties, their publishing, as well as the need to define the purpose of the assets that are given to political parties from the budget.
Transparency Serbia announced the actions which will be undertaken in Belgrade and several other cities of Serbia , which are related to conduction of the obligations from the Convention of UN against corruption and consequent implementation of the regulations from the area of right to free access to information and prevention of the conflict of interest.
