Sale of „Mobi 63“and access to information
Organization Transparency – Serbia welcomes the decision of the Government of Serbia to sell the enterprise „Mobi 63“at the public auction, as well as the news that by selling in that way high price was achieved. We consider also that after this sale, authorities in Serbia should enable the citizens to get the insight to all important information about conditions from sales contract and the way of using assets gained with selling.
Government of Serbia will prevent speculations, which usually follows such valuable transactions, by publishing content of contract concluded with winner of the auction, as a matter of undoubted public interest, as well as full information about previous agreements with Austrian co-owner of „Mobi 63“. By publishing the contract, Serbia would also make a step forward in comparison to surrounding countries and its own past, having in mind that hiding of contract's content about selling of shares in “Croatian Telecom“ when „business secret” was used as argument and secrecy of negotiations before establishing of Serbian „Telecom“ (1996) provoked creating of doubts in correctness of authorities' business moves.
