Press-conference subjects:
This press-conference will deal with several matters.
At the beginning, we will comment on the latest processes considering information which Transparency – Serbia published first on its press conference on September 20th 2007, when we pointed out to excessive allocation of 62 million of dinars from budget of the Republic of Serbia for 2006, that wasn't in accordance with the Law on Financing of Political Parties.
Second issue in agenda will be presenting to public documents which we received from Ministry for Infrastructure, by using the right to free access to information and comment shortly content of those documents. It refers to contract which government of Serbia closed with consulting agency Luis Berger, who prepared text of the contract on concession for building the high-way Horgoš – Požega. Second set of copies which we got from the Ministry consists of opinion of state organs considering harmonization of contract with domestic regulations.
Transparency – Serbia has recently started working on gathering of information in order to create some picture in which level are signed public procurement contracts implemented, how is realization of public procurement contracts controlled and in which way state organs proceed if firm with which they contracted procurement of goods, services and work doesn't fulfill its contractual obligations.
Since work on changing the Public Procurement Law is in progress, Transparency – Serbia used the fact that Ministry of Finances opened public debate on that occasion and represented to that Ministry prepositions for improvement of working version of that Law made by Ministry.
As known from earlier, legal advice center for matters of corruption functions as part of Transparency – Serbia (phone 0800 – 081 - 081). Recently, besides general counseling, special one is established, intended to those that need help considering protection of rights in the processes of public procurements.
