Monitoring of election campaign at local elections

Conference themes:

With this press conference begins project of Monitoring of election campaign at local elections which will be held on May 11. This project is implemented by organization Transparency Serbia, in cooperation with partners (in Smederevo with CEDI) and media in 8 cities and municipalities of Serbia , among which is Smederevo.

This project will cover following areas:

Financing of election campaign, which includes gathering and analysis of data on activities of election campaign participants, media advertising, promotional gatherings, eventual use of public resources, allocation of budget assets, control of reports on campaign financing etc. At the press conference we will point out to problems in financing of election campaigns in Serbia , and especially to those related to local elections. The word will be about ways of promoting of parties and candidates, especially in the light of Ethical Code of local officials, which almost all municipalities and cities in Serbia adopted.

Also, on this occasion, we will present promotion materials which will be distributed to citizen and deputy candidates and direct citizens, party representatives, journalists and representatives of municipality in which way they can contact organizations Transparency – Serbia and CEDI, to share with us their knowledge and dilemmas on financing and conducting of election campaign and how to jointly reach solutions the best for the citizens.
